Material
Stainless steel
Stainless steel is a fiber laser staple. Annealing can produce dark oxide marks with little material removal; etching and engraving add tactile depth when required.
Typical processes
- Annealed marking
- Etching
- Deep engraving
Practical tips
- · Specify grade and finish (brushed, polished, bead-blast) for contrast targets
- · Annealed marks preserve corrosion resistance better than deep cuts
- · Deep engraving needs more machine time — share depth requirements early
