What is fiber laser marking?

Fiber laser marking uses a ~1064 nm infrared laser delivered through an optical fiber to permanently change a material’s surface — by colour change (annealing/marking), shallow melting (etching), or material removal (engraving). It is the industrial standard for metals.

Is laser printing the same as laser marking?

No. “Laser printing” usually means toner or ink on paper. Fiber lasers do not deposit ink; they mark, etch, or engrave the material itself. If you searched for laser printing on metal, you typically want fiber laser marking or engraving.

Marking vs engraving vs etching — which do I need?

Marking changes contrast with little or no depth (best for codes and logos when dimensions must stay exact). Etching creates a shallow frosted feel. Engraving removes material for a deep recess that survives heavy abrasion. We recommend based on material and duty cycle.

Which materials can you mark?

Most metals: stainless steel, aluminium (including anodised), brass, copper, titanium, and many tool steels. Selected engineered plastics can mark with fiber; clear or unsuitable plastics are declined or redirected. We sample unknown materials first.

What file formats do you accept?

Preferred: AI, SVG, DXF, DWG, PDF (vector). PNG/JPG accepted for reference; complex logos may need redraw. For codes, send the exact string/payload plus minimum size constraints.

Most jobs complete in 2–5 business days after artwork approval and parts receipt. Rush (same-day / next-day) is available when the machine schedule allows, with a surcharge.

Do you offer pan-India service?

Yes. Parts can be couriered to our Bengaluru studio (Banaswadi). Local pickup and drop-off are available in Bengaluru. We return marked parts via courier.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

We accept one-offs and production runs. A minimum job charge applies so small prototypes remain economical for setup time. Volume discounts start around 50 pieces.

Can you mark serial numbers and QR / DataMatrix codes?

Yes. We mark sequential serials, batch codes, QR, and DataMatrix. Code size and contrast are tuned for your scanners; we recommend a first-article check.
